Misfit Circus: An Interactive Clown Experience
Where: Stomping Ground Comedy Theater, Dallas
When: Saturday, January 3, 6–7pm
Why go? Run off and join the circus (sort of) by joining this 1-hour clown school hosted by the talented people behind this improv comedy club. It’s part “greatest show on earth,” part workshop to learn the tricks of physical comedy and altogether silliness—and it’s open to all ages. Learn more
S.T.E.A.M. Workshops
Where: Sci-Tech Discovery Center, Frisco
When: Friday, January 2, 10am–noon or 1–4pm
Why go? Kids in first–eighth grades can choose from one of several workshops, each focusing on a STEAM theme and activity, such as programming robots that draw on their own, or learning sewing basics to make a wallet out of recycled plastic. Phenomenomaly
Where: Meow Wolf, Grapevine

Why go? The “Flickerwerm,” giant puppets, and a parade of live dancers and musicians will be making their last appearances soon. Catch their “migration” between 1pm and 6pm on weekends, and if you’re coming on Sunday, visit between 3pm and 6pm during Meow Wolf’s regular Open Studios for even more craft activities. Polar Bear Plunge
